This community is under the jurisdiction of the Saddleback Valley Unified School District. Students attend highly ranked Portola Hills Elementary, Serrano Intermediate School, and El Toro High School. Several private facilities are available like Sonrisa School, Halstrom High, Cornerstone Community School, and The Master’s Academy. Saddleback College makes its home here and there are also continuation and adult schools in this city.
Shoppers can find everything they need at centers like Kaleidoscope Courtyards and The Shops at Mission Viejo which offers over 150 merchants. There are two parks per square mile here and Painted Trails is very near Pinecrest Park. There are also three golf clubs in the city; the Casta del Sol Golf Course, Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course, and The Mission Viejo Country Club.
Residents have access to Lake Mission Viejo which offers outdoor activities like swimming, boating, and paddle boarding. The lake is stocked with catfish, bass, sunfish, and trout. Movie screenings, fireworks, and concerts are held throughout the summer.
Mission Viejo is one of the largest planned communities in the United States and is known for its tree-lined streets. This city also holds many triathlons and 5K runs throughout the year as well as holiday events. The Mission Viejo Youth Athletic Park has five soccer fields and eight baseball fields. There is where many leagues hold their practices and competitions.
